BIOGRAPHY YELLOW PEARL
Yellow Pearl is named after a hit song of the same name by Phil Lynott [Founder and lead singer of rock legend Thin Lizzy]. As a band that is consistently in high demand, they have performed over 400 gigs in three and a half years. Their live performances reached a career high when they were selected to be the only opening act for rock legend Thin Lizzy ('Whiskey in the Jar,' and 'The Boys Are Back In Town'), on their 20/20 European tour. Their music is showcased on the album "HitZone 27," alongside songs by Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys. "HitZone 27" is a compilation of hit songs. It is the European version of America's "NOW That's What I Call Music." In addition, their chart topping song, 'For You and Me' was chosen to appear in Love Songs Top 100. This 5 Disk CD Set contains 100 of the World's Top Love Songs from the past five decades. Yellow Pearl's music was in the company of such industry greats as Santana, Van Morrison and Simon and Garfunkel.
Yellow Pearl has also performed on the popular, long-running BBC television series, "Top of the Pops." This music television cornerstone showcased performances from top-selling recording artists. Yellow Pearl's appearance was all the more special as it took place during the final season of this prestigious series. "Top of the Pops" has been host to such music industry icons as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Madonna.
The first single 'See You Again,' from their debut album "The Rebel In You," was a European Top-Ten hit. It was followed up by the second hit single, 'Already Over You,' which enjoyed similar success. The strings arrangement for the album, was recorded by the Barrandov Orchestra in the city of Prague. This orchestral ensemble performed the Academy Award-Winning Score of the motion picture Dances With Wolves. Recently, the album's exciting third single, 'Fire In Your Eyes' was released. Stephen Van Haestregt, member of the European Platinum Selling Alternative Rock Band, Within Temptation, produced this record for the band.
In addition to working on their second album, the band is busy writing music for two American feature films. They will be performing the official theme song for both movies. Yellow Pearl will also be making an acting cameo in both films, and star in a music video for each single. The films will be released in theaters worldwide. Yellow Pearl's exciting new album will be released in the beginning of 2008!
